Kerry Osborne, 35, held the first Haselbury Plucknett Horse Show to raise money for Cancer Research UK after her grandfather, Fred, passed away from the disease.
Due to time constraints the show has not been held since then, but son Chad, a member of the Crewkerne Army Cadets, has brought it back.
He wants the event, planned for Sunday, September 5, to raise money for the Help For Heroes charity.
He said: "I can remember the first show as a kid and I've wanted to see the show come to fruition again for years. I kept on at my mum to do another show for ages, but she couldn't. Now I've turned 16 I decided to do it myself.
"The first step was to find an area of land suitable for the event, so I contacted the local farm and as luck would have it, they had a field which they could spare for the event. Next I roped my friends into forming a committee. I really would like to thank my friends without whom this show would not of been possible.
"We have added a large variety of classes to appeal to everybody and most horses and ponies should be able to enter at least three classes each, depending on what categories they fall into."
There will be three horse rings at the events, showing, showjumping and clear round.
Chad has also added a dog show to the event to attract a wider variety of people.
The classes are all novelty and include most handsome dog and waggiest tail. A variety of trade stands will be at the show such as animal portraits, tack stalls, catering, photographers and a doggy stall.
Chad said: "We really are trying to get the word out to as many people as possible to make the attendance as great as we can to raise as much money as we can for Help For Heroes. I am very keen for the show to continue in future years and to grow bigger as it does."
